Journey through the Karoo

At NTONI, our guided bush walks offer guests a memorable, up-close journey into the heart of our reserve.

Led by our warm, experienced guides, each walk immerses you in our dynamic ecosystem of hardy Karoo vegetation, including spiny acacias, sunlit grasslands, tangled shrubs, and the iconic Witgat boom. Your guide will draw your eye to every exciting element, from animal tracks to nesting birds and medicinal plants, details often missed on game drives.

Our diverse terrain, ranging from 800m to 1700m above sea level, transitions through valleys, plateaus, shaded kloofs, and rugged peaks

San Rock Art

San Rock Art

As part of your walk through the reserve, you’ll venture into valleys once travelled by the San people. Tucked beneath stone overhangs, faded paintings still cling to the rock — quiet echoes of their lives, hunts, and rituals. Seeing these artworks up close is a rare and humbling reminder that you’re walking the same paths as Africa’s earliest storytellers.
