Rifle Hunting

About. Rifle Hunting at Ntoni in South Africa

Rifle hunting in South Africa at NTONI takes place across varied terrain, where open plains and broken ridges create clear and safe shooting positions. Because conditions shift through the day, your professional hunter leads every step and decides which animal is suitable to harvest. This keeps our wildlife populations healthy and prevents unnecessary pressure on the land. In addition, you can hunt a wide range of species, including Kudu, Gemsbok, Wildebeest, Eland, Impala, and Springbok. The first day, before entering the field, we get you acquainted with your rifle and Swarovski scope on our shooting range and run through safety procedures so your hunt begins smoothly and with confidence.

Your Rifle Hunt

The Field Experience with Your PH Team

Rifle hunting in South Africa at NTONI follows a clear structure that gives you maximum time in the field. First, you wake up before sunrise for coffee and a small bite. Next, you head out with your PH and trackers. Trackers locate game by spotting, listening, and reading fresh signs, while the PH positions you for a controlled and ethical shot. In addition, the return to the lodge around late morning gives you time to rest and enjoy a full breakfast. Later, the afternoon session starts after a light meal, followed by a second hunt that runs into the early evening. Sometimes the day ends with a sundowner at a scenic point before you return to the lodge for a braai and time to review the day’s results. And we will also find time for a lunch in the field at one of the endless scenic spot at Ntoni.

What to Expect

What to Expect During Your Rifle Hunt

When you rifle hunt at NTONI, you can expect clear guidance, structured safety, and transparent field decisions. Each hunter chooses between 1:1 or 2:1 guidance, and always hunts with a PH. Meanwhile, trackers and skinners handle the practical work so you can focus on the hunt. The meat goes to a regional buyer or to local charities, and your trophies are collected by our preferred taxidermist, Wild life Artistry, after the hunt. Our terrain needs controlled harvesting to prevent overgrazing and to maintain healthy numbers across species. Therefore, each hunt supports the long-term stability of the land and the wildlife that depend on it.
