What you will experience
Cape buffalo hunting is a multi-day process. Therefore, a typical hunt spans approximately six days, giving the PH and trackers enough time to locate mature bulls, study wind and terrain, and plan safe approaches. Tracking often starts before sunrise, because early conditions increase visibility and reduce wind shifts. Later, you return to the lodge for breakfast before resting and preparing for the afternoon session.
Each day on the reserve follows a clear rhythm. Trackers read signs and movement patterns, while the PH determines whether an opportunity is suitable. Consequently, some stalks continue for hours, and others may be abandoned when the wind turns. Because buffalo respond quickly to pressure, hunters move with patience and precision. Meanwhile, the team ensures you stay safe, informed and in a strong shooting position when the time is right.
