- Understanding and following the safety briefing from your professional hunter
- Commitment to ethical and conservation-driven hunting practices
- Confirmation that all hunting permits are arranged together with your NTONI package
- Ability to walk safely across mixed Karoo terrain
- Awareness that beginners are welcome, as the guide manages each step
- No compulsory vaccinations required, as the region is malaria-free
- Daily weather changes; preparation for cold mornings and warmer afternoons
- Prime hunting months: April through September
- Rifles must remain unloaded until instructed by the professional hunter

- Worn-in hunting boots suitable for rocky and uneven terrain
- Comfortable lodge shoes or sandals
- 3 pairs of full-length hunting trousers (neutral colours: olive, khaki, brown)
- 2 pairs of hunting shorts for warm-season hunts
- 4 hunting shirts (short or long-sleeved, neutral tones)
- 4 pairs of socks
- 4 sets of underwear
- Warm fleece or pullover for cold mornings
- Field jacket for early starts and late evenings
