Your Hunting Base
What Hunters Can Expect at NTONI
A Hunting Safari for Hunters at Ntoni offers clear structure, skilled guidance, and reliable conditions across our 10,000 hectares of varied terrain. Our professional hunters lead every outing and give clear safety instructions before the first session. You start each day before sunrise, drink a quick coffee, and head into the field. Later in the morning, you return to the lodge for an extensive breakfast. After a break, you prepare for the afternoon hunt, which continues until sunset. As a result, hunters spend long, productive hours in the veld with expert support.
Groups of three to eight hunters fit the lodge and the rhythm of the reserve best. Solo travelers are also more than welcome at Ntoni. We host a maximum of 14 guests. Each hunter chooses between 1:1 or 2:1 guidance with a PH. Trackers join every vehicle to locate game, while skinners handle the animals once the hunt is complete. This clear structure keeps the pace efficient and ensures each hunter receives focused attention. The lodge, meals, and daily care remain consistent throughout your stay, so you can focus entirely on the hunt.
Hunting Conditions
Why NTONI Works Well for Serious Hunters
A Hunting Safari for Hunters at Ntoni takes place in a landscape with plains, valleys, and rugged slopes, which gives hunters realistic and fair-chase situations. Most trophy males are huntable throughout the season, and the PH decides which specific animal is suitable. This protects the long-term quality of each species. You can expect steady sightings of kudu, wildebeest, springbuck, blesbuck, impala, buffalo, and many other species. Because all hunting is guided, you always receive clear instructions on approach, distance, and shot placement.
Weather conditions influence the daily rhythm but do not disrupt the hunt. Early mornings in winter are cold with firm ground, which helps with tracking. Summer brings longer daylight hours and consistent wildlife movement. The terrain stays accessible across the year, and the team adapts each outing to visibility, wind, and movement patterns. Therefore, hunters experience reliable conditions without unnecessary delays.
Field Support & Processing
How We Handle Tracking, Recovery, and Trophies
A Hunting Safari for Hunters at Ntoni includes full support from trackers, PHs, and skinners. Trackers identify routes, confirm tracks, and assist with recovery after the shot. Once the animal reaches the farm, skinners prepare it for the taxidermist according to the hunter’s request. Most meat goes to regional buyers, and a small portion is donated to local community initiatives. This process remains consistent and ensures respectful handling at every step.
Your trophies are collected by a preferred taxidermist who manages mounting and export. From that moment on, responsibility shifts to the taxidermist, which keeps the process clear and transparent. Because the PH selects the correct animal and the team handles recovery efficiently, hunters can rely on professional standards from the shot until final processing. This makes planning and follow-up straightforward for both first-time and returning guests.
Group Dynamics
Why Groups of Hunters Fit NTONI Best
A Hunting Safari for Hunters at Ntoni works best for groups. The lodge layout, the shared outdoor spaces, and the rhythm of each hunting day are designed for hunters who travel together. After each outing, groups gather around the fire, enjoy a braai, and share the events of the day. These evenings give structure to the stay and create a steady routine across the week.
While individual hunters are welcome, the lodge is built for groups, and the experience becomes richer when several hunters travel together. Shared vehicles, combined tracking efforts, and coordinated sessions allow everyone to hunt efficiently while still following personal goals. This balance keeps the days practical, social, and focused.
Ethics & Stewardship
How Hunting Supports the Reserve
A Hunting Safari for Hunters at Ntoni is part of a broader management plan. Because the reserve is enclosed, hunting helps maintain healthy populations and prevents overgrazing. Professional hunters select appropriate animals to protect breeding structures and long-term species quality. Respect for wildlife is central, and the team does not tolerate careless behaviour.
In addition, ongoing restoration work, such as erosion control, water retention measures, and grassland repair. A vital part of this effort is our reforestation project: we are planting thousands of Spekbooms and other indigenous trees to restore the original landscape. These trees provide the nature the space it needs to thrive while significantly improving the nutritional quality of the food for our wildlife. It all depends on careful management. Every hunter contributes to this effort by supporting a reserve that actively rebuilds its ecological balance. Therefore, your stay directly supports conservation work on the property.
